The right attire keeps students safe, comfortable and able to move freely — and helps instructors see body alignment to teach proper technique.
By class type
- Ballet Leotard and tights with ballet slippers (pointe shoes for qualifying dancers).
- Jazz, Contemporary & Musical Theatre Fitted dancewear with the appropriate jazz shoes, or as directed by the instructor.
- Tap Fitted dancewear with tap shoes.
- Hip Hop Comfortable athletic wear with clean, indoor-only sneakers.
- Acro & AcroDance Fitted dancewear, bare feet — no buttons, zippers or loose clothing.
- Aerial Silks & Lyra Fitted clothing that covers the backs of the knees and underarms to protect skin on the apparatus; no zippers, buttons or rough adornments; no jewelry.
