Southern Vermont and New Hampshire's only full aerial arts and certified acrobatics studio, built on a simple belief: every dancer deserves to be celebrated for who they are.

Studio Overview

A vision that grew into the region's most-loved studio

Uplift Acrobatics and Dance is Southern Vermont and New Hampshire's only full aerial arts and certified acrobatics studio. Located in the historic Woolson Block Building on Main Street in downtown Springfield, Vermont, Uplift offers more than 60 classes in dance, acro, aerial silks and lyra for ages 3 through adult — professional-level training delivered in a bright, welcoming community.

Founder Kaitlyn Knapp opened Uplift with a simple but ambitious mission: to create a positive, inclusive studio where every dancer is celebrated for who they are, and where student well-being comes first. In just a few short years, that vision has grown into one of the most respected dance programs in the region — more than doubling its class offerings, earning coverage from the Vermont Journal and the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and becoming known throughout New England for expert-level instruction paired with genuine care.

At Uplift, we believe dance and acrobatics have the power to transform lives. We focus on the whole student — physical, emotional and social growth — helping each child build the confidence, friendships and resilience that carry far beyond the studio walls. Whether a student is taking their very first ballet class or training on aerial silks at an advanced level, they are part of a community that helps them grow, believe in themselves, and rise.

Every Uplift class is led by an experienced, passionate instructor committed to a positive, encouraging learning environment — many holding professional certifications and circus-arts credentials.

Kaitlyn Knapp

Owner, Founder & Dance / Acro Teacher

Driven by her mission to prioritize student well-being and development, Miss Kaitlyn founded Uplift to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where every dancer is celebrated for their authentic self. When she isn't working in the business, she's working on the business — teaching classes, building community relationships, and supporting her team — and she loves every minute of it.

Kaitlyn majored in Dance Management and Instruction at Plymouth State University and holds high-level certification from Acrobatic Arts, the world's leader in AcroDance education. She has been teaching for 18 years, and her favorite part of the job is building strong bonds with the children she teaches and their families — watching their confidence, courage, and strength grow with every new skill and each passing year.

Her mission: help young people spend less time on screens and more time in the studio, where they can become masters of their own bodies and use movement as a way to express themselves and create art.

Outside the studio, Kaitlyn spends her time with her husband and their son Caleb, her Chocolate Lab Bella, and her two cats Ava and Max. She loves kayaking, hiking, snowboarding, practicing yoga, and foraging for wild seasonal foods.

When you are driven by a higher purpose, it doesn't feel like work. It is no small thing to discover one's passion. I am so grateful to spend every day sharing the gift of dance with others.

Uplift is located in the heart of downtown Springfield, Vermont, in the historic Woolson Block Building on Main Street — easy to reach for families across Southern Vermont and New Hampshire. Our studio features professional sprung dance flooring, mirrored studios, and dedicated rigging for aerial silks and lyra — a purpose-built space for everything from a toddler's first creative-movement class to advanced aerial training.
